Straightline Performance 12 Inch Ice Scratcher Kit - 185-101
The Straightline Performance 12 Inch Ice Scratcher Kit (185-101) is designed to improve cooling efficiency for snowmobiles by providing additional snow spray onto the track and heat exchangers. These ice scratchers are especially useful in low-snow conditions to prevent overheating by ensuring that snow is constantly being brought up onto the cooling components of the snowmobile.
Short version (12 inch) for rail mounting on tracks under 140 inches.
Sold in pairs (matched sets)
The only true ice scratcher that uses a production carbide replaceable tip.
Uses “official” custom carbide studs built by Woodys.
Full stainless wire rope and ends for lifetime use.
Designed to be run down at all times, but can be mounted on the rails if needed.
Replaceable and affordable carbide scratcher tip.
Large mounting base to avoid rail wear.
Parts list:
1. 7/16” Scratcher Carbide Tip (2)
2. Scratcher Cable (2)

Why use ice scratchers?
Have you ever come to a lake crossing and found that there is no snow, just glare ice?
Riding through this situation is bad for a modern snowmobile.
Machines depend on the snow for lubrication of the sliders and depend on the snow dust to be tossed on the heat exchangers for engine cooling.
Modern high-horsepower, liquid-cooled motors require excess cooling capacity helped create a need for a device that could kick cooling snow onto the slides and up to the cooling extrusions — mounted along the runningboards, under the seat or ahead of the track.
A simple addition of ice scratchers can help maintain good snow lube in minimal conditions and help reduce engine overheating.
